Institute for the Study and Preservation of Brazilian Indigenous Cultures

NAWÁ means another people, another people, and it is the way
indigenous peoples refer to non-indigenous people.

Our goal is to bring awareness and education
about the environment, the forest and its native people,
that has so much to teach us.

For this, we act as a bridge between the Nawás and the Forest, integrating innovative sustainability projects and
preservation through sponsors and stakeholders.

How we do

Social and Environmental Projects

We support and collaborate with projects for the installation of drinking water, solar energy and the introduction of permaculture.
Our first activities are concentrated in Aldeia Ni Yuxibu Altamira, located in the Indigenous Land Seringal Independência, close to the municipality of Jordão, in Acre.

Experiences in the Forest

We provide contact and immersion of the Nawás with indigenous peoples through annual trips to Ni Yuxibu Village.
In addition to a cultural and anthropological experience, this project enables the dissemination of ancestral traditions and respect for nature.

Studies and Productions

As a way to expand and disseminate the knowledge of native peoples, we collaborate with projects and publications of materials that encourage the study and preservation of Brazilian indigenous cultures.

Integrative Products

The development of environmentally conscious products, as well as the sale of handicrafts produced by forest artisans, are ways to encourage the wide dissemination of our projects and finance initiatives for the forest.

Lectures, mentoring and human development

With the objective of human development, through educational lectures we take information to raise awareness of groups of the most diverse ages and backgrounds regarding the forest, the environment and its native peoples. Mentoring aims to be a bridge between companies and the preservation of indigenous cultures and natural resources.

THE GUARDIANS
OF THE FOREST

They are the Guardians of the Forest because they defend the Amazon and its rivers, forests and all the pulsating life around it.

In the Brazilian Amazon, indigenous peoples have been resisting the disasters caused by modern civilization for centuries. For them, our forest is sacred and must be honored: it is the source of life for all of us.

They are the true connoisseurs and Guardians of the Amazon Forest, and through the ancestral wisdom that is passed on from generation to generation they keep their traditions of natural treatments alive, acting with wisdom, love and respect for nature.
